Theft at Azharuddin’s Lonavala Bungalow: TV Set and Rs 50,000 Stolen

A television set and Rs 50,000 in cash were reported stolen from the bungalow of former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin in Lonavala, Maharashtra. The incident, which is believed to have occurred sometime between Thursday evening and Friday morning, was discovered by the bungalow’s caretaker.

Discovery of the Theft

The caretaker, upon arriving at the property located in the Tungarli area of Lonavala, found the main door ajar and signs of forced entry. A subsequent check revealed the missing items, prompting him to immediately alert the local police. Azharuddin, who was not present at the bungalow at the time of the theft, was informed of the incident.

Stolen Items

According to police reports, the stolen items include a high-definition television set and a sum of Rs 50,000 in Indian currency. The total value of the stolen goods is currently being assessed.

Police Investigation Underway

Lonavala Police have registered a case of theft under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. A team of officers visited the bungalow to collect forensic evidence and are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to identify the culprits. Investigations are ongoing, and police are questioning local residents and potential witnesses for any leads. Authorities have stated that they are working diligently to apprehend those responsible for the crime.
