Karachi, Pakistan – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. The series is scheduled to be played entirely at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka from July 20 to July 24, 2025. All-rounder Salman Ali Agha will lead a new-look Pakistani side.
Key Absentees and Injury Concerns
Several prominent names are absent from the squad, including star batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, and premier fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. Reports suggest these key players have been rested as the selectors aim to try out new combinations and build bench strength ahead of upcoming major tournaments.
Injury concerns have also impacted the selection, with vice-captain Shadab Khan sidelined due to a shoulder surgery that will keep him out for approximately three months. Fast bowler Haris Rauf is also unavailable, having sustained a hamstring injury during the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 season. Other pacers like Naseem Shah and Mohammad Wasim Jr. are still in recovery from previous injuries. Hasan Ali has also been left out, reportedly due to county commitments.
Returns and Maiden Call-ups
The squad sees the return of experienced all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz, who last played a T20I in January 2024, and left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqeem. Emerging pacer Salman Mirza has received his maiden call-up to the national squad, following impressive performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. Mohammad Abbas Afridi, who was previously out due to injury, has also been recalled.
