Leo Campana Ready To Score For The Revolution After Dealing With Injuries

New England Revolution striker Leo Campana is poised to reignite the team’s offense, looking to put a challenging period of injuries behind him and consistently find the back of the net. The Ecuadorian international has shown flashes of his scoring prowess since joining the Revolution, but a series of hamstring issues have limited his impact.

A Season Plagued by Hamstring Woes

Campana’s 2025 campaign with the Revolution has been a stop-start affair due to recurring hamstring strains. He was sidelined for significant periods, notably missing several matches in March and again in late May and early June. These setbacks have undoubtedly hindered his ability to build rhythm and contribute consistently to the team’s attack.

Despite the limited playing time, Campana has managed to score two goals in nine appearances (eight starts) for the Revolution this season. His first goal for the club was a crucial game-winner against New York City FC in April, followed by another against Toronto FC two weeks later. These moments have highlighted the potential he brings when fully fit.

The Road to Recovery and Return

The medical staff and coaching team have been carefully managing Campana’s recovery. He was gradually reintroduced to action, making substitute appearances before returning to the starting XI. Most recently, he was back in action against his former club, Inter Miami, on July 9, 2025, suggesting he is now considered fit enough for a significant role.

The international break in June provided a timely opportunity for Campana to focus on his rehabilitation without missing crucial MLS fixtures. His call-up to the Ecuador Men’s National Team for World Cup Qualifiers in June also indicated a positive step in his recovery, even if his minutes were limited.

Ready to Lead the Line

Acquired from Inter Miami CF in a significant trade in December 2024, Campana was brought in to bolster the Revolution’s attacking options and provide a consistent goal-scoring threat. Sporting Director Curt Onalfo emphasized Campana’s proven ability as a goal scorer, noting his strength in the air, intelligent movement, and technical skill.

With the injury setbacks hopefully behind him, Campana is now eager to demonstrate why the Revolution invested in him. His presence up top offers a focal point for the attack and his ability to convert chances will be crucial for a Revolution side that has at times struggled for offensive production.

The New England Revolution will be relying on a healthy and in-form Leo Campana to spearhead their charge up the MLS standings and make a strong push for the playoffs in the latter half of the season. His return to full fitness and readiness to score will be a significant boost for the club.
