Indian Badminton Stars Shine at Swiss Open

Indian badminton is soaring at the Swiss Open! P.V. Sindhu, our national champion, has dominated her matches so far, securing a spot in the pre-quarters. PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist, dominated her first match against Pornpicha Choeikeewong of Thailand, winning in straight games (21-12, 21-13) within 34 minutes. This win advances her to the pre-quarters (round of 16) where she’ll face 17-year-old Japanese prodigy Tomoka Miyazaki.
Lakshya Sen, currently ranked 13th globally, showed his good form by defeating Malaysian opponent Leoong Jun Hao in a tight match (21-19, 15-21, 21-11). This win also puts him in the pre-quarters where he’ll play against Chinese Taipei’s Chia Hao Lee.
Kidambi Srikanth, a former world number one, secured a win against Wang Tzu Wei of Chinese Taipei (21-17, 21-18). He advances to the pre-quarters as well.
