World Champ Aishwarya Pissay Eyes Historic 7th National Rally Title in Coimbatore

India’s most celebrated female motorsport athlete and 3-time FIM World Champion, Aishwarya Pissay, is poised to make history at the upcoming Round 4 of the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) 2025 for 2-Wheelers in Coimbatore. After dominating the season with three consecutive wins, Pissay is aiming for an unprecedented seventh National Rally Title, a feat that would further cement her legacy in Indian motorsports.

Dominant Season Puts Pissay on the Brink of History

Aishwarya Pissay, riding for Petronas TVS Racing, enters the Coimbatore rally as the current Women’s Championship leader, having secured victories in all three preceding rounds of the 2025 INRC season.

Her impressive performance, including a recent win at the K-1000 Rally in Bengaluru, has placed her on the cusp of an unmatched milestone in Indian motorsports. A victory in Coimbatore would not only extend her unbeaten streak but also make her the first in Indian motorsport history to claim seven National Rally Titles. This would also mark her 12th overall National Title across both rally and road racing disciplines.

The Challenge of Coimbatore’s Terrain

The Rally of Coimbatore presents a formidable challenge for all competitors. The event features 52.22 km of gravel-heavy competitive stages within a total itinerary of 76.58 km. Known for its unpredictable terrain and technical difficulty, the Coimbatore rally will demand exceptional precision, endurance, and unwavering focus from Pissay and her rivals.

A Glimpse into Pissay’s Illustrious Career

Aishwarya Pissay is a true pioneer in Indian motorsport. She became the first Indian motorsports athlete to win a world title when she clinched the FIM Bajas World Cup in the women’s category in 2019. She currently holds a remarkable three World Cup medals. Pissay’s domestic career has been equally dominant, with six consecutive Indian National Rally Championship titles in two-wheelers from 2017. Her journey from road racing to cross-country rallies, overcoming significant injuries along the way, is a testament to her grit and determination.

The rally is scheduled to take place over the weekend, from Saturday, July 12th, to Sunday, July 13th, 2025. All eyes will be on Coimbatore as Aishwarya Pissay attempts to etch her name even deeper into the annals of Indian motorsport history.
